Kayla & Ty Josefiak

Picture
Meet Kayla, Lisa's youngest daughter, husband Ty, and kids. She shared a little about their family, posted below.

Meet the Josefiak family!

Kayla and Ty Josefiak live in rural Pawnee County, just south of Burdett, Kansas. They are involved in the family’s diversified farming and ranching operation, located south of Rozel, Kansas. Ty prefers the farming side of things. After spring planting, he spends the summer months managing the irrigation systems for Josefiak Farms. Passionate about all things sports, he is the head high school basketball coach at Pawnee Heights schools.

Kayla is a former high school biology teacher turned stay-at-home mama who helps out on the farm in whatever ways possible. This includes cooking for summer wheat harvest crews and helping move equipment. She is the club director and head 18’s coach for the Southern Plains Thunder volleyball club, a club she launched in the fall of 2019. She is also the website coordinator for USD 496 Pawnee Heights schools, and operates her own blog, Topknots and Toddlers, in her “free time.”

The Josefiaks have three children. Nora (3) is a carbon copy of her mother. She loves to color, dance and do “her gymnastics.” Mila (2) is a spitfire who loves to laugh, be wild and who’s constantly smiling. Baker (10 months) is the baby of the family. He was born at 34 weeks and spent 16 days in the NICU in Wichita last summer. That experience prompted Kayla’s mom, Lisa, to pursue a passion she had long talked about to volunteer at a NICU in Topeka, as an infant “cuddler.” The Josefiaks are proud to raise their children in agriculture and hope to pass on the basic principles that hard work and dedication will be of benefit during their life journey.

Kendra & Rex Michaelis

Meet the Michaelis family!

Kendra and Rex live east of Marysville, Kansas, on a small farm with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and dogs. Rex is a crop adjuster for RCIS. Kendra is office manager for Crist & Pieschl Rehabilitation in Marysville. Tucker, 12, enjoys anything that has a motor in it, especially tractors. Tate, 10, loves to fish and hunt. He has an awesome teacher in his dad.

The boys attend Frankfort Grade School. At 4 years old, little Tenley is the mirror image of her mother - she loves animals and is crazy about them! Ask her sometime about her baby “chickees.”

The entire family enjoys 4-H, hunting and all their animals.

Cameron & Carrie Moser

Meet Cameron, Lisa's oldest and only son, wife Carrie, and kids. His wife Carrie shared a little about their family, posted below.

Hello from the Moser family!

Cameron, Carrie, Scarlet (7), Thane (4), Maive (2) & Baby Girl expected to join us in August! We are a busy, happy, most always on-the-go farm/ranch family who treasures our little spot carved out in northeast Kansas. We built our forever home on 40 acres, which includes woods and a clear creek winding through, providing no shortage of the views of God’s beauty and plenty of family adventure. One of my favorite things is watching our children explore our property with never ending enthusiasm and excitement. We are also so blessed to be in close proximity to both Cam’s parents and my own; all within a 10-mile radius. The security of knowing we have help near if needed is immeasurable.  Cam and I are partners with Harry and Lisa in Moser Ranch and love the opportunity this provides for our kids to learn and experience firsthand so many valuable lessons - not to mention quality Nana & Papa time.

Along with the ranch, Cameron also manages his own farming enterprise and the business of Moser Trucking. Our usual joke is that if he could clone himself that would be really helpful. As for me, I worked in the nursing field for nine years and now spend my days chasing our beautiful kiddos, cooking, making trips for supplies, parts, school, activities and doing whatever else I can to help things run smoothly. Many days the long hours and hectic schedules involved with agriculture can be rough but all the same we love our life and are thankful every day for our network of family support and all the opportunities we have been provided. We look forward to raising our children in this lifestyle and passing along family practices/traditions as we look forward to the future.

Harry & Lisa Moser

Lisa and Harry Moser own and operate Moser Ranch, a seedstock and commercial cow/calf operation located in Marshall County, 14 miles southeast of Frankfort, KS. The seedstock sector satisfies customer needs for genetics through a private treaty bull sale; the commercial enterprise includes marketing packages of females and the backgrounding and finishing of cattle sold to a niche market in the Lawrence, KS, area.

Lisa, a life-long Kansan, born the fourth of seven children to her parents when the family lived on a farm north of Lillis, KS, spent her formative years spent on the family farm homesteaded by her great-grandparents in Nemaha County, KS. Harry, a North Dakota native, is a transplant to the Sunflower State, and is involved in state leadership positions with agriculture and livestock organizations. Lisa and Harry met during their college years when their respective educational programs-at Kansas State University and North Dakota State University-brought them together at a regional meeting for college students involved in the Block & Bridle club, an organization focused on animal agriculture and found within the Department of Animal Sciences at most agricultural universities.

Lisa and Harry Moser have three children. Cameron and Carrie (Bergmann) Moser are partners in the Moser Ranch operation, and in addition have separate farming interests. Kendra and Rex Michaelis live north of Home, KS, where Rex is a crop adjuster and Kendra manages a physical therapy practice. Kayla and Ty Josefiak are involved with Josefiak Family Farm & Ranch in Rozel, KS. The Mosers are grandparents to nine-soon to be ten-grandchildren.

Moser Ranch accomplishments include being named the Beef Improvement Federation’s 2003 “Seedstock Producer of the Year,” and “2012 Outstanding Stockman” by the Kansas State University Block & Bridle Club, Department of Animal Sciences & Industry.  The Moser Ranch Mission Statement, developed in 1999 to lend focus to the family’s work, states: “The Moser Ranch is dedicated to the efficient production of a high-quality beef product that will consistently be a very satisfying eating experience. By constantly monitoring measurable goals for our genetics, we are confident that our cattle ARE working for our customers. Continued consumer and customer education concerning beef and the beef industry are also important aspects of our operation.” Moser Ranch tells its story on Facebook and on their family website: www.moserranch.com.
